What has been the biggest challenge you've faced since becoming a mom?
This is a tough one for me - but it was absolutely getting back to being ‘me’ - professionally and personally - after a serious medical diagnosis and treatment. Thankfully, I’m now happy and healthy and always consider what steps I need to take to remain present as a Mom to my kiddos. I think that’s a challenge for all parents!
What has been your proudest accomplishment as a mom?
My kids! They are amazing individuals that have had distinct personalities from day one.
What has been your greatest professional accomplishment?
I’ve been lucky enough to have worked with some incredible brands and people over the course of my career, including managing intern programs for some amazing MBAs who have gone on to be leaders in their own right. Personally, I’m most proud of my ability to pursue new avenues to match my professional goals with my personal goals. I’ve made a few leaps of faith - including pursuing an advanced degree, switching careers from PR to HR, pushing myself to return to work after medical leave and now, pursuing freelance opportunities and joining Develop Camp.
I chose to register for Develop Camp because:
I’ve spent my career in tech (PR, branding, HR, recruitment and program management), but am interested in exploring the skills side to extend my long term remote/freelance opportunities.
I am most looking forward to the future because:
I predict 2019 will be the year when remote careers get the respect they are due. I hope the opportunities will continue to expand and allow remote and flex workers to pursue new avenues - and be compensated correctly too! And as always, what most excites me about the future, is watching my kiddos grow up!
