#WhyICode: Andrea Quenneville Shows It's Never Too Late to Learn

November 17, 2017

I used to work in IT and LOVED my job. However, I made the tough decision to take a leave to raise my children 16 years ago. I’m now 47 and enrolled in a RebootAccel program in Seattle to help me on my journey to rejoin the workforce. I’ve rediscovered through this that I love being creative and problem solving. I also have the tenacity to be a great contributor to my future employer. Why am I choosing to learn how to code? My answer is twofold and equally important: I am empowering myself to do something new and difficult that utilizes my talent and drive to become a female coder, and I also want to model the importance of knowing it is never too late to learn something new and break the mold for my teenage daughter.
